Neoh4x0r's AutoSmart Lights Script Master:Provides a master plugin containing a script that will turn a game light into an Auto Smart Light
Requires The Lastest Versions of:
Useful Tools For Game Modding/Configuration:

what does this do?

this is a master plugin that provides a script, which can be attached to a light.
once the script is attached to a light, the light will then turn on/off during the day/night (see notes about editing/fine-tuning the script)

where can i find it?

you won't find this in-game -- it is a modder's resource, you must use the construction kit, to make use of it.

how do i use it?

for this to work you must: add my autosmart light plugin as a master plugin of your new plugin or a plugin containing an existing light (that you want to tranform into an auto smart light)

1) to edit this plugin see: loading a plugin or mod with the oblivion construction kit

** the script looks something like this:

2) after the plugin has loaded, use the 'object window' and select the 'light' section (this is an item in the tree) -- and choose a sub section
3) right click under the 'editor id' pane and choose 'new'
4) when the light dialog comes up, fill-out the dialog like you would for any object (give it a name, set all of the properties you wish, etc)
5) you will then see a drop-down box, next to the 'script' label, click the drop-down box and select 'neoh4x0rautolightscript', this will attach the auto smart light' s script to this light
6) click the '...' button -- this will allow you to edit the auto smart light script
7) when the script editor dialog comes up you can alter the following values:
  • lightonduringnight (either a 0/1) -- 0=off 1=on --> specifies if the light should be on during the night
  • lightonduringday (either a 0/1) -- 0=off 1=on --> specifies if the light should be on during the day
  • day (a value between 0 and 23.98 [12:00am and 11:59pm]) --> specifies the start of day time [default=5.5 -> 5:30 am]
  • night (a value between 0 and 23.98 [12:00am and 11:59pm]) --> specifies the start of night time [default=22.5 -> 10:30 pm]
8) be warned: if you create a new light or use an existing light, and you alter the master script in your plugin -- it will be changed for all lights in the current plugin; however, you can create multiple plugins each containing one or more lights (each plugin could have a custom version of the master script)

10) on a funny side note: you could add this script to any object (not just lights) and that object would either be visible or invisible, depending on how you configure the script from step 7.

for example:
  • if you were to attach this master script to any actor (assuming default script values) -- the actor would be invisible between 5:30 am and 10:30 pm (day time) and then be visible between 10:30 pm and 5:30 am (night time).
  • if you were to attach this master script to any object, other than a light, the effect would be the same as for attaching to an actor.
